My name is Badma. I was born in Russia and spent the first part of my career as an auto mechanic — over a decade of diagnosing problems, replacing components, and getting machines back on the road. When I moved to Staten Island in December 2021, I looked for work that would let me use the same skills without the overhead of running an auto shop.
Appliance repair turned out to be a natural fit. The same instincts that diagnose a stalling engine help figure out why a dryer won’t heat or a washer won’t drain — bearings, belts, motors, control circuits, the underlying engineering is the same. The difference is that an appliance technician works in your home, which keeps overhead low and lets me pass the savings to customers.
Today I run Premier Appliance Repair Staten Island as a one-person operation. When you call, I’m the one who answers. When you book, I’m the one who shows up — no subcontractors, no call centers, no warm-transfer scripts.
I’m NYC licensed (DCWP #2134762), fully insured, and I speak both English and Russian. My approach: diagnose honestly, quote upfront, fix what can be fixed, and tell you the truth when something can’t. If a job is outside my license — gas line work or sealed refrigeration systems — I refer you to a licensed specialist instead of pretending.
Two pieces of paperwork most repair shops don’t show you. Here they are.
Same-day service across all of Staten Island. The $80 diagnostic is credited to your repair.
